REVIEW: Pure Suds Lavender & Chamomile Face Gel Pack

Wednesday, October 28, 2015

Hello lovelies :) Deepika's back with a review for a face mask, a first on the blog. I have dry skin which faces breakouts occasionally. The face mask was sent to me as a freebie with the other products that I purchased from the brand. I did a haul post too which is available here. The face mask claims to sooth the skin from sunburns, acne-prone skin, dark spots and dull skin. Let's see how it fared for me.

About the product:

Lavender & Chamomile Face Gel Pack.

Sounds fun?
Well, fun & awesome are the words to describe this 5-10 minute single application gel pack.

Are you the kind of person who is on the run every single day and have very little or no time at all to take care of your skin?

This gel pack is composed of floral waters of lavender and chamomile with green clay and extracts of Pomegranate and Green tea which sooth the skin from sunburns, acne-prone skin, Dark spots and dull skin.

It is mask suited for all skin types as lavender and chamomile balance the skins sebum secretion and prevent our skin from either drying too much or becoming too oily.

One can experience instant brightness, Hydration, Glow, and a soothing calmness after a 5-10 minute application. Wipe off with a damp cotton or rinse with normal water.

My Experience:

As the name suggests the face mask has a gel like consistency in teal colour and requires no mixing ensuring ease of application. The mask comes in a plastic jar with a gold coloured screw lid. The jar is sturdy and travel friendly. I use this mask 2-3 times a week and it lends instant brightness and hydration. However the sad part is that the brightness doesn't last long, it's gone after a couple of hours. I wish the glow and brightness lasted for at least a day or two. The mask contains natural ingredients like floral waters of lavender and chamomile. It's a known fact that lavender is believed to have antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties which can be used to help heal minor burns and bug bites whereas chamomile has strong Anti-inflammatory, great for sensitive and acne prone skin types who have inflammation.

The mask has a herbal kind of smell which doesn't bother at all, it's perfect even for sensitive noses and the smell doesn't even linger on the skin for a very long time i.e. as soon as you wash it off the smell is gone. I really like the fact that this mask is very easy to apply, what do I is, wash my face with a mild cleanser and apply a thin layer of this mask and remove it after 10 minutes. Do not have it stay put on your skin for too long because it will dry up and take a lot of time in washing off. It's adviced to use lukewarm water as the mask has the tendency to stick to the skin due to it's gel like consistency. You can even use a damp cotton ball to remove the mask.

I have been using this mask for almost a month and a half and I have managed to finish only half quantity of the jar since very little quantity is required for the entire face the mask lasts really long, the mask has only helped in lending instant brightness and hydration. I have not noticed any change in acne or anything. Overall, this is a good mask if you are short on time and require something that would instantly brighten up your skin and leave a subtle glow.

Pros:
  • Cost effective - Only a small quantity is required for the whole face.
  • Ingredients - All natural
  • Handmade and cruelty free
  • Ease of application - no hassle of mixing etc
  • Lends instant brightness and hydration
Cons:
  • Availability - It's not a con for me as I don't mind buying it online
  • The effects don't last long
  • Wish the brand would provide an applicator or something which wouldn't make us dip our fingers in the jar to avoid contamination.
Will I recommend: No harm in trying once

Until next time,

Deepika
